We CAN Get There From Here

We CAN get there from here.  My 18-year-old grandson, Lil AJ, is in a coma, and it’s hard for me to look at what’s in front of me – his athletic body lying still on a hospital bed – so, in accord with my personal beliefs, I’ve decided to look at something else.

Many of my friends and family come to me tearfully and ask, “What can I do?  How can I help?”  My answer is always the same, “Please send loving, positive, healing energy to him and the family.  We believe in the power of prayer.”

Now I’m inviting you to join me on a journey for him at the spiritual level.  Create with me a movie in your mind of his complete recovery.  Start with the acknowledgment that all things are possible. Focus on the general truth of something good in your life, for example, it is good that your breath continues to move in and out of your body (his does!).  Pause for a moment in gratitude for the sweetness of your breath.  Acknowledge the physical well-being of your beating heart and appreciate that the blood is pumping in our bodies.  Create a momentum of well being and positive thoughts.

Then, create a movie in your mind of a healthy, happy, Lil AJ.  In one of my movies, he is a brilliant M.D. whose specialty is healing the brain – he has first-hand knowledge -- and I’m in the audience of one of his seminars.  His sister, YaYa, creates a movie in which Lil AJ has one daughter who LOVES her Auntie YaYa, while constantly teasing her Uncle Don at the family reunion celebrating AJ’s recovery.  My seasoned contemporaries (the members of the senior center where I volunteer) helped create a movie of Lil AJ warming up on the track field.  He stands tall; stretches his arms overhead, holds his elbows and pulls his bent arms backwards.  Then, unlike us seniors, he comes down on all four, and swiftly places his feet in the starting blocks.  He counts, rises up half-way, and jets out of the blocks for about six steps.  Then Lil AJ stops and repeats the process.  He starts again to stretch, shake, bend and lengthen his body in preparation for his next race.

These mind movies enable me to stop looking at what I don’t want and start looking at what I do want.  Creating these patterns of thoughts about his recovery changes my vibrational reality.  I can move into a more peaceful, hopeful state and have faith in his healing.  “Faith is a bird that feels dawn breaking and sings while it is still dark.”  Rabindranath Tagore.

I would love to hear, see, and read about your mind movies for Lil AJ.

Thank you!
